Saturday morning Shahnaz and her little helpers made pancakes for breakfast. Thanks, guys, they were delish!
Then we headed outside to enjoy what would be the first encounter with snow for all of the littlest ones - Cole, Rory and Quincy.
Rory got this great sled for Christmas, which was perfect for pulling the babies - and a good workout for the adults!

Saturday afternoon Rob and Keli arrived from Seattle. We ordered pizza for dinner and spent the night hanging out at the house. We had a little bit of excitement when Brittany called to let us know that they had lost power at their house and the electric company said that all of Sunriver would be losing power for an hour. You've never seen a group move so fast to locate candles and get a fire going! Luckily, we kept our power all night so our alternative sources of light weren't needed, but in a way it was kind of fun.
Sunday we spent the morning at home playing and relaxing.
In the afternoon some of us headed into Bend to the Childrens Museum while others hung around the house. That night Cory BBQed burgers, Ginie made a yummy salad, and Shahnaz whipped up some mashed potatoes. Rob got a surge of creativity and decided to see what he could do with snow and mixing bowls. Here's what he came up with (this picture really doesn't do it justice)-- a little snow village scene. It was so cool and the kids loved it. Owen kept saying "Thank you, Rob". Very sweet.
And that was the end of the fun for most of the household. Sunday night half of the household was up most of the night with the stomach flu, which lasted through most of the day Monday. Needless to say, our New Years Eve was a bit tamer that usual! It certainly wasn't the way that we had envisioned ringing in the New Year, but luckily everyone is on the road to recovery now.
