a lot of love

My mom is one of the most amazing and wonderful people that I know. I could go on and on about how much I love her and am constantly impressed and inspired by her, but most of you know her and know this already, so I will keep this post short and sweet. I just wanted to share photos of Cole in his new sweater that my mom made. She spent countless hours and the result is just perfect. Take a look ...

Can you say ...

Cole has quite a few words these days and will usually try to say any word that you say to him. Here's a little clip of him and some of his favorite words. My personal favorite is when he says his name. Oh, man. That just makes me smile every time.

reading with auntie sarah

We are so happy to have Sarah back in Oregon! And although I know she wants to get settled into a job as soon as possible, we are loving the fact that since she doesn't have a job, she is in Corvallis a lot! It's so fun to be able to get together for dinner, go for walks, and just to hang out. She's such a wonderful auntie to Cole. We got a Flip video camera recently (so get ready for more video clips on the blog) so when Cole and Sarah were reading together on the couch, how could I resist? It was just too sweet. I filmed them for 5 minutes, thinking that I'd go back and edit it down, but tonight when I went to do it I just couldn't. I couldn't edit any of it out! I love every second of this little video, even my dorky voice and Sarah and I talking about The Office. I love it all. So here it is, in it's entirety. Just be warned that it's pretty long, and maybe not that interesting to everyone, but I could watch it over and over. I can't believe we've gone this long without video!

happy, happy day

Happy Inauguration Day! A very happy day indeed. Cole and I watched the inauguration together at home. He laughed, clapped and exclaimed "Bama!" while I shed a few tears of happiness. A few photos from my phone, I was trying to get one of Cole and Obama together.

Cole's love/hate relationship with hats

Cole is obsessed with hats. He doesn't like to wear them so much, at least for any length of time, but he has a fascination with them. These days anything that is on your head or that he puts on his head automatically becomes a hat ... sunglasses = hat, headband = hat, food on his head = hat, strainer = hat ... you get the idea.

Caden gave him this Woody (from Toy Story) hat.

a beautiful sunny Sunday

This morning Cole, my mom and I headed out to Fitton Green for a morning walk in the wilderness. It was such a beautiful morning! Crisp and clear. And the visibility when we reached the top made the hike through the mud all that much more worth it! The path at Fitton is a bit rough, so it was a good test for our new stroller as well. It was awesome! Man, I love that thing. Having shocks makes all the difference in the world. You'll also see that Cole got his hair cut this week. Nice and short ... he's looking so much like Cory these days, especially with this cut I think.
