Getting friendly with mascots

Cole has a love/hate relationship with mascots. Loves them from a distance, but when we get up close, he literally starts to shake. This has been true with most until we met Sparky the fire dog and this Tiger at the CARDV family festival. Maybe its because they were smaller than Benny and the Knight (the two mascots he has seen the most of) but he befriended them, followed them all over the gym and even agreed to get his picture taken with them.

Sunshine = park time!

We've driven past the train and "dinosaur bones" at Avery Park many times, but this is the first time that Cole has seen them up close and personal. And it won't be the last! A perfect for climbing and exploring.



And we've been spending LOTS of time at our neighborhood park, one of Cole's all time most favorite places.

Valentines Day at the coast

For Valentines Day this year we decided to head over to the coast for a little beach time. It was a beautiful morning - pretty clear and a bit sunny. We walked up and down the bay front in Newport, checked out Nye Beach, grabbed lunch at The Chowder Bowl and then the rain came ... and we headed home. We actually don't make it the the coast very often but its nice to be so close that we can go for a quick trip.
